YOUR FIRST VISIT
Every Smile Starts With an Evaluation
At May O’Keeffe Orthodontics, we understand that choosing an orthodontist is an important decision. We are always excited about meeting new patients during the first office visit. Patients over the age of 18 will be asked to complete a new Patient Packet. If under age 18, the accompanying parent or legal guardian will complete this packet of information. Your initial appointment will consist of a thorough examination and a discussion of potential treatment options. This visit will give us insight into your orthodontic needs. During the initial examination, we will address the following questions that cover the basics of your orthodontic treatment. We encourage you to ask questions as well.
- Is there an existing condition that orthodontics can correct?
- Is treatment needed now, or should treatment be delayed until appropriate growth, tooth eruption or other factors have occurred?
- What treatment procedures will be used to correct the problem?
- Do any teeth need to be removed?
- How long will treatment take?
- How much will it cost?
- What are my payment options?
While we can often answer these questions about treatment during the initial exam, we will address specific areas after careful analysis of the diagnostic records. We feel it is important to analyze each patient’s specific needs because in-depth planning leads to excellent results and much higher patient satisfaction.
During your appointment you will visit with our Insurance Coordinator to discuss treatment options, time frames, and financial arrangements. We will make sure you leave our office with a clear understanding of your/your child’s specific needs, the treatment plan, and the treatment duration.
We know your time is valuable. To save you time, please bring your insurance card, a valid driver’s license, or identification card and click on the icon below to print out our health history form, and make sure to bring that with you as well.
